bits of me

it's that time of year to be happy and jolly for the whole day. i hope everyone is enjoying their holidays with family and friends.

this year feels a little different, in many ways... but it still has the same christmas-y feeling. still just happy with family, which is the most important part.

i'm in the middle of packing and taking a short break to write this. i'm trying to pack all my clothes and things i probably won't need for the second semester.

i can't wait until i get to the warmer weather at home :) my room is frigid right now... no heat at the moment, but i cant wait to sleep under my warm blanket...

(almost) home!

and it means a lot of things...

First, my birthday! I'm excited to celebrate by going out to a bar and hanging out with some friends. Sadly, I decided to bake for my own birthday (yes, quite sad, in my opinion). I tried a new recipe: Rugelach!




Rugelach is perfect for the holidays. It is sweet, tender, flaky, and delicious. I made a batch of 48 cookies, half with apricot preserves and half with raspberry preserves. They were filled with brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cranberries, and walnuts. I sprinkled powdered sugar on top, and it made it look amazing. I was pleasantly surprised by people's reactions: everyone had good reviews. I was amazed at the simplicity of this recipe and the rave reviews I got for it. Definitely a keeper!

Secondly, in December, it means even colder weather, as the chill sets in. It's definitely getting colder, and I'm not sure I'm liking it... I switched to my thicker flannel blanket and sheets, and it feels so much warmer.

Third, December means end of the semester and the end of classes. It's a rush to finish everything in the last two weeks of classes and a couple days of cramming--er studying. I just cannot wait until it is finished.

Lastly, it means.... CHRISTMAS! (and New Years, too) Self explanatory, so no need to say more. I'll just repeat: CHRISTMAS! (and New Years, too)

... pizza? I forgot how good a good slice of pizza was. Fresh toppings, hot ovens, perfectly crispy crust, delicious goodness. Just went to a trattoria in a small town in NJ, and it was quite good. Their selection of pizzas included the basis cheese and margherita, but it is not common to see eggplant parm, chicken parm, chicken alfredo, ziti pizza, buffalo chicken, just to name a few I saw.

Thanksgiving break. I'm glad to have the friends and family that I have. I appreciate that I am living a happy and healthy life. The semester is almost over, and I'm ready to get a break from this all. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and now it's time to work on working off those calories!

its summertime! after memorial day, summer officially begins. summer work has started, and it hasn't been too bad yet. loving my new room and the lifestyle (for now). lots of sun and fun (definitely, lots) to come this summer.....

senior year. wow, i'm a damn senior. i feel old. first party tonight hosted by my room, so should be fun....

So. Today, just like yesterday, my neighbor's radio alarm went off at like 8:00 AM. It's quite annoying and loud and he doesn't turn it off, as he is probably not there. It has happened before too, so its annoying a hell.

It's a sunday and i'm up sorta early trying to get some work done. I can't get my lab report done, since I can't figure out the calibration data. Without solid calibration data, I can't analyze anything, so I am waiting for my friend to come back on campus and work on it with me. I hate this class with a passion >.>

about 4 weeks of class left, and i feel like im craving the end so much... this weekend is going to suck. lots of reading and studying. not to mention the weather sucks like crap. it poured rain today. april for goodness sake. it should be sunny and warm, or even sunny at the least.

i want summer to be here :(

the usual weekend routine. slack off, laundry, tv, more slacking off, cramming work on sunday. =) yay. im craving take out food again .__.

im currently in a vegetative state playing videogames. sad, but true. super mario galaxy is currently ruling my life.

this game is so addicting. dang. whoever made this game was a smart person, 120 "levels" (stars) and you can play it all over again with luigi. dang 240 stars in total essentially. woo!

current status: 100 stars.

also, happy st. pattys day =)

flying home in 7 hours. yay. homeeeee

spent the last 8 hours hanging out with a friend, watching movies, and eating food.
movies watched: the last samurai, casino royale, ratatouille. fun =)

its spring break bitches! woot. going home finally for a nice break.

im just so tired as im writing this. for the past few days, ive been having trouble falling asleep. i "go to bed" at like 12 or so and dont fall asleep until like 1 or 2 am, which is weird. normally doesnt happen to me, but maybe its just my life catching up with me. so tired >.< so i'm planning on sleeping early tonight.

to do: gmail archive update, bake cookies which i have been yelled at for, make it home in one piece, update more music into my already *awesome* music selection.

*sigh*

such an interesting day.

first, in research, i got sprayed on by methylene chloride mixture. eek. i freaked out so much. thankfully i think im okay...
second, i spilled most of my product =( like 30 minutes after the first incident
third, i discovered that peanut butter + blue cheese. weird, yet still rather delicious. chunky peanut butter, tangy and creamy blue cheese. yum =]

so close to spring break... i can taste it, and i think my mind already left for vacation -.- well, the last stretch includes some tests, being in lab, and another dreadful lab report on a lab i never actually did...
